Hello, and welcome to Rebellious History!

My name is Daisy, and I am a literature and history student at the University of East Anglia. I began this blog for two very simple reasons: I am deeply interested in the history of revolutions, and I have unfortunately found my spring semester cut short due to the UK’s lock-down. As I now have a wealth of time on my hands, I decided to start this blog to share with you what I have learnt through my research. I don’t claim to be a historian (yet), but I hope you will discover something new.

History is perhaps my favourite of my two subjects, and my love of it most likely stems from Horrible Histories. My interest in revolutions is grounded in two musicals: Les Misérables and Hamilton. Though both are highly fictitious, they do conjure up fascinating scenes of rebellion, which led me to read more on their historical context.

I will direct you to my sources, since referencing is the rule of law in academia, and you may wish to delve further into these topics. Again, I hope you enjoy the blog, and please do reply or get in touch. I would love to hear from you!
